Peanuts vs. People

Atlantans reimbursed if this earmark is canceled: 500
April 1, 2009, WABE reported on a paper by David L. Sjoquist, Professor and Director (FRC & DPO) concerning the Georgia State budget. I had been trying to research this particular angle myself; the difference between what metro Atlantans pay in state taxes and the value of the benefits they receive.
Mr. Sjoquist's paper stated: "Every man, woman and child in the 10-county Atlanta metro generates about $500 more in revenue each year than they get back."-wabe--sjoquist-
Per capita, Atlantans contribute $500 more in revenue to the Georgia State Budget than they get in return benefits, yet many of state legislators still complain that Atlanta receives "too many benefits".
Fine...let's go one better. Let's take ZERO benefits from the state...and pay ZERO revenue back.
I'll be John Galt. Give me my $500 back or I'm going on strike. I'm going to "shrug".
